Easter Sunday is certainly the high point of the Christian year. Jesus’ resurrection continues to inspire hope in the midst of worldwide hopelessness. Jesus came to bring us ‘life in all its fullness’ (Jn. 10:10) by dealing with the one thing that denies us the opportunity of living at our full potential. Sin robs us of the very essence of life and leaves us with a hopeless existence which we cannot survive unscathed. At Easter we not only rejoice that Jesus took our sin upon himself but also that he poured his very life into us (2 Cor. 5:21). Our new life in Christ is a life full of meaning. Imagine going through your whole life without knowing and achieving your purpose. It’s a life freed by grace; freed from guilt and the fear of death, the hurts and expectations of others and from meaningless. It’s a life full of energy. Weariness of the soul cannot be cured by a holiday, we need to be plugged into the power of God. The ‘good news’ is that the power of God that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us on a day to day basis. Why not join us this Easter Sunday to hear more of the resurrection story.
