Who: Rodney and Karen Richards
Where: YWAM, Wollongong, Australia
Background: Rod and Karen were commissioned by St Andrews in August 2009 to serve with Youth With a Mission in Wollongong, Australia. The Wollongong base prepares young people for mission work via Discipleship Training Schools.
After nearly 11 years of service with YWAM Wollongong, Rod and Karen have returned to Papamoa, NZ for a much needed Sabbatical in order to be closer to Karen’s parents and do some much needed maintenance on their little house. Rod will continue to work with Australian Mercy, both on the Executive Board, and as an administrator of the projects. Karen will continue to engage in staff training via online means. They will both return to Wollongong in July/August for 3-4 weeks to attend board meetings, run training etc.
Who: Simon & Helen Johnson
Where: OMF, Auckland
Vision: Working with the OMF NZ Mobilisation Team to encourage, inform and journey with individuals and churches who are wanting to explore mission options to East Asia.
Background: Simon has recently taken up a new position at the OMF office on Dominion Road in Auckland. He is working as part of the OMF NZ Mobilisation Team that is seeking to encourage, inform and journey with individuals and churches who are wanting
to explore mission options to East Asia.
This will involve speaking at churches, helping disciple groups of interested young people, being involved in creative activities that promote mission, participating, teaching and networking at mission conferences and trainings in New Zealand and also overseas from time to time.
It is a diverse role, with plenty of scope for challenge, growth and leadership.
Simon and Helen Johnson and their four children, Henry, Eva, Esme and Annelise are part of the OMF family.
