The ERCC Building Team
Design and Ministry Needs
The Evans Rd Community Church Leadership Team recognised they have outgrown its current space. Sunday attendance has been increasing to overflowing, no adequate space for youth and children’s ministries, and the foyer is too crowded for people to interact between services.
It became clear that in order to continue to meet the needs of our growing congregation, we needed to expand. The Management Task Group turned to CoreSteel Buildings for guidance in building an innovative expansion that would better serve our ministries and allow our congregation at Evans Rd Community Church to continue reaching new people.
In 2000 the 1st phase of our current building was opened by the Very Reverend Ray Coster of St Andrews, Mount Maunganui as ‘a new church for the new millennium’. It was so designed in a way that when the time was right, the second phase of the worship centre could be extended along Maesbury Close.
Hightlights
For the 2nd phase of our new building will include a new larger worship centre that will seat 200 people, doubling the size from our present worship centre.
It will also have modern audio and visual equipmenty, plus the auditorium can easily expand into the foyer when a larger space is needed. The new foyer will have a self-serve café, seating area, and new restrooms. This provides an area for the congregation to get together between services and build relationships.
The commercial kitchen and with its spacious foyer will also be used to cater and host our monthly Men’s Breakfasts and annual community functions uch as weddings and funerals.
We have also provided spaces that can accomodate a variety of ministries, such as our large multi-ministry classroom, as well as two large offices, as well as a dedicated space for the facility and property manager for mops, brushes, tools etc.
“Come to Jesus Christ. He is the living stone that people have rejected, but which God has chosen and highly honored. And now you are living stones that are being used to build a spiritual house.” 1 Peter 2:4-5
